James Hazelwood's unique style of photography has its roots in a philosophy of respect for the natural occurrences of life. This respect has lead him to photograph weddings, people and events with a careful eye for the natural flow of life. His goal is to see with the camera what is happening. He quietly anticipates actions and sensitively documents the moments and nuances without people actively aware of the process. A frequent comment from clients is "we hardly even knew you were there, yet you captured everything."

James is a life long student of photography. His images have been published in a variety of magazines, journals & textbooks including the Ritz Carleton magazine, Newport Life, Southern New England Weddings, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, and Baby. He's a member of the Professional ?Photographers of America, and the National Press Photographers Association. He has won numerous local and national awards for his photography. An avid reader, writer and traveler, he lives in South Kingstown, Rhode Island with his wife Lisa and son Benjamin, and two Labrador retrievers named Linus and Lucy.
