I'm so sorry about the long absence from the blog. I was on vacation in California visiting family and then got back to go off to New Hampshire. Photos of all that soon to come.

10 years ago, Todd and Zen asked me to photograph their wonderful wedding in Voluntown, CT. That was really the beginning of my re-entry into photography. They now live in California near my mom, so three years ago, they asked me to do a family portrait. Since then, they've added another one to their family, and they were here for a family reunion recently, so we did family portraits on the beach. We got both coasts covered - next time in Canada.

Taking on personal projects

I'm trying to do personal projects more.  Why?  Cause, I'm chomping at the bit to be creative with my photography.

Here is a photo that was taken at the Newport Cemetery.  It's actually about 15 photos, and it was taken in the middle of the day.  In brief, I shot 15 exposures at a dramatically underexposed value, and hand held a flash about three feet from the part I was photographing.   Then I took all the images and combined them in photoshop to get this image.

Gotta do this at a wedding sometime - it would be so cool.
