At the skate park

I was at the Skatepark in Groton, CT last night with JR, you'll remember him from the Senior High Portrait session in August. Anyway, we spent about an hour. This was harder than i thought it was going to be. But we still got some cool shots.

Andie & Matthew

It was a windy day, as the clouds cleared from a foggy day. Andie, Matthew and I had fun getting to know each other and coming up with great images for their Engagement photo book.

Heather on the Beach

I was on the Beach this week with Heather and her husband Rich, who served as chief grip (the guy who helps carry stuff) and Volleyball server. We got some great shots, my favorite is the horizontal of her diving for the ball. Rich says he wants some shots of him like these, and I asked if he was going to wear the black bikini. Stay tuned for the answer.

Portraits

Our friends Kurt, Colleen & Analiese were in town this week visiting from California. Kurt helped me build my studio when he lived in Massachusetts. So i told him, he's got a lifetime portraits as a thank you. This year we went for a more classic look. Here are two of my favorites, along with a couple out takes.

Only a photographer drools at this stuff

Canon announced this week that come november they will be distributing a new Camera, the Canon 5D II. This will be an upgrade of the Camera I currently use. Why am I drooling over this $2500 piece of metal? Cause it's gonna have 21 megapixels of full frame image - that means all of those people that were calling me last month about wanting a Billboard - well now I can do that for them. It will also take video. Hah, you say, my point and shoot takes video. Not like this, it doesn't. Quality on a whole nuther level. Now I just need to start saving for this new baby.

The Post Wedding Pictures

John & Nicolette agreed that their Hurricane Hanna weekend was not the best for outdoor portraits. So Lisa and I met them one evening on Ocean Drive in Newport, Rhode Island for some additional photography. Boy, was this worth it! Check out the slide show below of the whole wedding. Reception at the Newport Yachting center, ceremony at St. Barnabas Church in Portsmouth, RI with my friend Pastor Linda assisting with the ceremony.

Kerry

Lisa and I have known Kerry since she was about 11 years old. You think maybe she's grown up a little in the last ten years? I had an idea for a series of photos at one of the Salt Ponds near us. Great light, great location and a great model.

A Weekend at the Rhythm & Roots Festival

Lisa and I went to the Rhythm & Roots Festival here in Charlestown, Rhode Island this past weekend. What a great event. I've wanted to see Robert Cray for years, so that was the highlight for me. Such a unique voice. But so many of the other bands were good too. And lots of characters too.
