Chris and Amanda had a gorgeous day last Friday. We were at the Blithewold Manor in Bristol, Rhode Island. Wedding Photography is always so great when all the elements line up - great weather, great location, great couple, who were really into taking the time for photography. Summer Sunflowers

I'm not a big flower guy, but couldn't resist these 8 foot high plants along the road at Schartner's farm in North Kingstown, Rhode island. My little Canon G9 point and shoot with an off camera flash allowed me to shoot into the sun at 1/1000 at f8 iso 80 - for all you photographers out their wondering, how'd he do that. I included the available light shots for comparison, which are nice too, reminds me of the cover photo for the Doors album In the Sun, circa 1969.

Emily's Boys

My longtime assistant Emily has been following her two twin boys around the house with her Nikon camera, and she grabbed this GREAT moment. Her husband Mike has returned from his final tour of duty in Iraq. So the family is all together. Only one problem, they need more TP.

One day...the next

Just an early morning reflection for all you new parents out there with little kids. One day you are swimming with them in the pool for the first time, and the next day they are moving out and going off to Grad school. All those sayings about enjoy the chaos now cause you'll miss when they move out, well, they are true.

New Photos

A few shots from a wedding this summer at the Belle Mer, in Newport, Rhode Island. Or is it Bel Merre or Belle Mere. How do you spell that name, and what does it mean in italian? French? Spanish? Latin? Beautiful Horse is what I get when I enter it into the (not very reliable) online translator. Probably not what they intended.

Where in the World are You?

I'm in Washington DC. We came down to check out our son's apartment, visit my brother, spend a week on the Chesapeake. Ben is starting at GW Law School this coming week. We've been walking, Kayaking, museum hoping, eating, oh and dealing with head colds. I'll be back in Rhode Island on Monday night.
