A Blast from the Past

My mother recently found these two photos and scanned them for me. My father holding a newborn baby Jim. The other is from a backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the 1970's, my brothers, and a friend Billy Clarke.

Chelsea is a model, now living in Providence. She contacted me about updating her portfolio. So one afternoon last week, I met her and her husband, along with their 17 months old in Roger Williams park. Here are a few out takes from our photo session together.

Marisa Bridal Model Session

You may remember Marisa and Shamus from their wedding last Fall. It was a great event with lots of friends that we know from Charlestown. The wedding was at the Belle Mer in Newport, Rhode Island. This past week I asked marisa if she wanted to do a Model shoot, which is essentially we go out to some crazy locations with a woman in a Bridal gown, and photograph. We had fun. Here are a few, I'll post a slide show later.

Blogger Photo & Video Upload Down

My apologies for not getting anything new on the blog lately. Apparently, Blogger, the service I use is having some technical difficulties of late. Their photo upload service collapsed over the weekend, and today, the tech support page says they are having problems with Video. Either way, it's preventing me from adding anything to the Blog, except text.

Come back in a day and hopefully we/they will have it fixed.

Monday Bridal Portraits

Not exactly Your Mother's bridal portraits. I spent the day with David Beckstead, and was introduced to a whole new way of seeing. Thanks David. And, thanks to Heather our bride for the day. Anyone out there want to do bridal portraits like these. Yes, yes, the dress would have to be cleaned after a session like this.

La Bella Bride magazine Shoot

Katina LaFazia, editor and publisher of La Bella Bride Magazine invited me to join her at the Museum of Women in the Arts, in Washington. D.C. to photograph some amazing florists, table designers, caterers for the 2009 issue. It was one of those whirlwind days, where we caught the 6:30 a.m. flight to DC, photographed all day, and returned that night. It was exhausting but visually stimulating to see all this amazing work. Plus, the museum is a wonderful building, and during breaks, I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the portraiture. Here are a few images from the day.

Julie & Matt at the Atlantis

Earlier in April, Lisa and I were in the Bahamas with Julie and Matt for their wedding. It was a wonderful event, and a joy to be with their friends and families. The wedding was at the Atlantis, Nassau, Bahamas. We had a great time with them photographing their wedding, and a wonderful vacation for the two of us.
