URI Gallery Show Voting Begins

On March 3rd, I'll have a Gallery Exhibit at the University of Rhode Island Library. It'll run for a month, and I'm planning an opening and Book Signing for Monday, March 10 at 6 p.m.

I need your help in selecting the images for the show. I've put 97 images on a web site for viewing. And I've got to get it down to 24 to 30 pictures framed and ready to go. Take a look and let me know your 10 favorite ones.

To get to the site, simply click the title of this entry "URI Gallery Show Voting begins" above.

Obama Victory Speech in South Carolina

Obama wins SC Primary by a Landslide

I'll get the You tube video of his South Carolina acceptance speech up as soon as I can. It was even better than Iowa. If you care about bringing this country together, and moving beyond the turbulence and left-right fighting of the Clinton-Bush years, I think this is the man that can do it.

Also, did you see that Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK, endorsed Obama in an article called "A President like my Father."

U23D - A must see

These shots are from a little point and shoot taken through the 3D glasses. OK. They aren't great but hey, what do you expect for smuggling a camera into a theatre. This is a great concert film. The audience from the concerts in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo & Santiago were so into it - seems most of it came from the Buenos Aires concert in Argentina. They new all the words, and had that wonderful Latin enthusiasm. The 3D effect is quite cool. Feels like Bono is reaching right out to you. The only criticism I would have is of the theatre- Hello, guys, this is a concert film. Turn up the volume!

If you are a fan of U2, you'll love the film. But, I also loved the way they wove social commentary into the concert. Since I've never seen the band live, this was my first concert experience with U2. Will I go again. You bet.

U2 Concert Movie

We have tickets to the new U2 concert film for Friday night. I've never seen them live, so this is the next best thing. We're going to the iMax theatre in providence, so the sound and picture should be amazing.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr Trip to Twin Cities

We were in Minneapolis, just for the weekend. My nephew was getting married, and my son was in the wedding. So we flew out, for a couple days. Man was it ever cold.

A Snowy Day in New England

All I had was my little Leica point and shoot today, when I saw this scene off the highway near Foxboro, Mass.

Narragansett Pow Wow

This past summer I was at the Narragansett Indian Pow Wow. Rather than taking the basic photographs, I decided to slow the shutter speed down to 1/15 of a second or more. I love these blurry and colorful images of their Corn Dance.

Our Family in San Francisco

We were all together. My brother Art and his wife Yumiko, seated on the couch. My Mom in the back next to my brother, Dan. Lisa is on the right with our son, Ben. Oh, and that's me on the left. Not bad for a quick, hey, everybody on the couch, ask Uncle Al to take the picture.

Barack Obama

I've been reading his book, The Audacity of Hope, and watched this recording of his speech. Wow. It's about time someone stood up and spoke of Hope again. I wish I was in New hampshire this week to cast my vote.

Susan & Justin

What a nice thank you note from Susan. I've been getting lots of them this year, and I should post them more often. Susan & Justin were married in Wickford, Rhode island, with a reception at the Eisenhower House in Newport, Rhode Island.

How to Stretch

My brother gave lessons in how to stretch, when we stopped on the way up to Santa Rosa for our family Christmas dinner with my Uncle, my Mom and various cousins. video
