On the Beach with the Family

The Demelim family was gathering in Watch Hill for the beginning of their annual vacation together. So we headed down to the beach in front of the Westerly Yacht harbor at Watch Hill for portraits. It was the perfect time of day, about 15 minutes before sunset.

Hair Salon

I recently did a Tuesday afternoon wedding for Courtney & Jason. Yup! Tuesday, different date. Photos to come soon. But, while in the Salon, I couldn't resist sneaking this photo.

LaBella Magazine Session

On Monday, I was in Newport at Bel Mar, the new facility renovated by Longwood resorts. It was the old Regatta Club. Wow! Have they made amazing improvements. The place looks fabulous. Katina at La Bella Bride magazine invited me to photograph the a series of table settings, cakes, invitations, etc for their 2008 issue. it was one of those bright blue sky days, and the whole team from BelMar and LaBella worked together to make for great still lifes. Many of these and the over 300 other images will appear in the 2008 issue.

What a Child Wonders?

OK, it's a simple photo. But, what goes through a child's mind as he looks out the window on a cloudy day. What's he thinking, wondering, longing for? I made this photograph today at a friends house, just like it. I like the reflection of his eyes in the window, the smudges on the glass from the multiple times he's gone to that glass viewing portal. It takes me back to a place when I was 4 looking, wondering, imagining.

Must be the Buddhist in me, thinking these thoughts these days.

Shadows and light

Shaun & Mark were married in Narragansett, RI with a Reception at the Towers. Great day, great weather and great people.

So we are walking back from the beach, and I see this shadow behind Shaun, I think it looks so cool, I ask her to keep walking, play, move around.

yes, i know some might look at this and say "Huh?" But, I love it!

Nick Returns from Iraq

Our son's best friend returned from his first tour as a marine in Iraq. Many many friends showed up to give him a warm welcome home.
